freedomoftheforest:

This is about Girl Scouts and the crazy amount of changes happening with the program in recent years.

A while ago, I was linked to a survey asking for input on how current or past GS members felt about what was going on in GS programming today. (link to survey) [I was specifically…

I just want to say that the BEST way to keep your GS camps open is to “Vote with your Feet.”

If you want those camps to stay open, you have to REGISTER and ATTEND events.
You have to VOLUNTEER your time to working at camp events.

You should DONATE to funds to keep your camps maintained = this is where a lot of money in camps are lost, maintaining camps to stay at ACA and State standards,
You should get your friends to come with you to camp, to work at camp, to work with girls…

Filling out a survey and writing a letter is good, but a great girl scout would Take Action (part of the GSLE!) by doing more than typing on a computer to save her camps.

And I’m not a nay-sayer, not one bit. I’m a big proponent of saving GS camps, because if the camps are gone I’m out of a job, a career, and a future. I just also get to see how much camps cost to run, and it’s hard to keep up with these days. :(
